We are pleased to inform you that Thomas Vogel has joined the European Exchange as Co-Director in April 2024.

With extensive experience at the German Federal Foreign Office and as a foreign policy advisor in the European Parliament, Thomas Vogel brings profound expertise in OSCE matters, security policy in Eastern Europe and Russia, and the democratic structure of the EU to the European Exchange.

Prior to joining the European Exchange, Thomas served as Managing Director of a German organization tasked with implementing security sector reforms worldwide on behalf of the German Foreign Office, the UN, and GIZ.

Thomas Vogel has a clear vision and passion for the further development of our organization and its networks:

"As Co-Director of the European Exchange, I want to promote active civil society, strengthen democratic initiatives, and raise awareness among state institutions. The challenges in Eastern Europe, as well as in Germany and the EU, are significant. I look forward to tackling these tasks with an international team and our European partners."

We welcome Thomas Vogel to the management of the European Exchange, where he will be responsible for the further development of individual programs as well as the overall strategy. We look forward to a long and successful collaboration.
