ASSOCIATION GOLOS: PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Moscow, 5th March 2012: In general, the RF presidential elections can be characterized as normal in the context of the past decade of Russian elections, with an insufficient level of competition, government interference with the electoral process, and some degree of coercion to vote. These elections cannot be classified as free and fair under the definitions provided in the Russian constitution and international electoral standards.
